Sweet 5 day old Baby Allie came to visit me at my Roseville home studio last week. I had a wonderful time photographing her and her family.
Allie hated posing naked and loved being nice and warm held in her mama, daddy, and big brother’s arms. Apparently she isn’t a fan of sleeping at night, but she is just the sweetest little thing and she was a fantastic newborn model. I was very impressed with her big brother Emmet, who is 2 and a half, knows everything there is to know about dinosaurs, and was so loving and gentle with the baby. He is very excited and proud to be a big brother. Siblings of this age can definitely be a challenge to photograph, but Emmet was a very good listener and was very eager and excited to hold his baby sister.
I love how this newborn session came together! I snagged that wheel barrow planter at a garage sale last year thinking it would make a great prop to take to Apple Hill with me since it’s the perfect size to use while photographing small children. Last fall, I loaded it up with apples and it worked out absolutely great! Since then, I’ve found a spot for that wheel barrow prop in all sorts of sessions, and I’ve thought for a long time that it would be adorable if I propped up a newborn inside the wheelbarrow, and I finally got my chance to give it a try. It’s always an awesome feeling to get to see my imagination come to life.
I want to send a huge thank you to this darling family! I’m so happy for you guys. Congratulations on your latest edition. Allie is an absolute doll! <3
