Baby Greyson {10 days new} | Sacramento Area Newborn Photographer | Citrus Heights, Ca

Baby Greyson came to visit me so I could capture his newborn portraits when he was just 10 days new.  He came to my studio located in my home in Citrus Heights, CA with his big brother and his adorable parents.  This little guy was so sweet, a great sleeper and model, and was absolutely perfect.  I had a wonderful time photographing him and his family.
Since he was born shortly before Christmas I took the opportunity to deck my studio with boughs of holly and bring out all of my Christmas props.  First I wrapped him up in some warm and snugly fabric in preparation of posing him in one of my rustic boxes.  Some babies really fight posing au natural in their bare skin, but almost every baby will calm down enough for pictures once I wrap them up nice and secure.  I stock my studio with all sorts of wraps made from stretchy and soft pieces of fabric for this exact purpose.  Sweet little Greyson was an excellent newborn model and he gave me no problems.  I pretty much always will start out my sessions with the newborn baby wrapped up like a burrito and once I wrapped Greyson up like I wanted, I placed him in the box and had planned to embelish this set up with some pine cones, holly berries, and twigs.  I liked what I had put together, but I knew that it needed a little something extra and out of the corner of my eye I saw a snowglobe that I had sitting on a shelf as a decoration for the studio, and decided to throw it in there.  This shot was completely unplanned, but it ended up being my most favorite shot of our session!
I also picked up an adorable snowman hat from the hand crafted newborn prop shop Off My Hooks which I thought was the perfect prop to include in a Christmas baby portrait session.  Last but not least, I just adore this “Silent Night” headboard backdrop I picked up from Lemon Drop Shop Backdrops.  There is a joke to made here about a newborn sleeping through the night, and I love it!  This has got to be my most favorite Christmas set up yet.  I asked my client to dress her son in his Christmas pajamas and she did a great job of matching up complimentary colors.  In addition to the Christmas set ups, Greyson’s mom asked me also to use the color green and I captured some lovely family portraits of the new family of 4.  Greyson’s big brother Koa is an absolute doll.  He is just the cutest little guy.  He is very excited to be given the promotion to BIG brother, and he did wonderfully with posing for pictures listening to be very well.

Thank you so much guys!  And wishing you a huge congratulations again!
