I had a wonderful time capturing senior portraits of my cousin Blake on a lovely spring afternoon in Davis, ca this past weekend. After 4 years of studying at UC Davis, he is getting ready to graduate college and I am so proud of him! I photographed him at a variety of locations around campus, and we had a ton of fun.
As a Sacramento area portrait photographer, I am continually on the look for scenery that would make a nice backdrop for portraits, and I have been so happy with how beautiful Sacramento and all of the surrounding areas are lately. The arboretum is an absolutely beautiful nature trail lined with big trees and stunning scenery located on the UC Davis campus. The arboretum was absolutely gorgeous for our session, and I found myself wishing I could photograph all my sessions here! While we are entering these spring months, the trees and wildflowers are in bloom, the summer heat wave has not hit us yet, and i can’t think of a more perfect time to take portraits outdoors.
I was a bit worried that I would have to reschedule this session due to rain, but thankfully, I was given a perfect evening to work with. I find it so funny how the weather can be so unpredictable during the springtime! It rained hard for days and days before our session. In fact, the day right before our shoot, it was so stormy that there was even thunder and lightening. I was very happy to find that the day of our shoot it was not stormy at all, and was nice and sunny. I even had some great golden evening light to work with! I absolutely love the way these senior portraits turned out!
Thanks again for choosing me to capture your senior portraits and for the very fun evening, Blake.
