It’s #backtoschool time, and my little boy started his first day of Transitional Kindergarten today. Kindergarten is a 2 year program for kids with birthdays in the fall, for those of you who aren’t familiar with how they do school over here in California. Since Lex’s birthday is in October, technically he will be held back a year, but he is soooo ready to start school. I’m very thankful that he qualified for TK, because otherwise he would have spent another year bored at home. This year he will be learning much of the same curriculum as in Kindergarten, but next year he will attend another year of Kindergarten, and will be promoted to First Grade in 2017. By giving him another year to mature and develop, I feel confident that he is going to do well in school. Today was the next step in my baby growing up. He’s that much closer to his ultimate dream of becoming a Garbage man.
Lex, if you ever get a chance to read this, I want you to know that Daddy and I love you with all of our hearts. Everything I do, I do it with you and your future in mind. I couldn’t possibly be more proud of you, Little Bear. You are so smart, and creative, and loving. You are a wonderful friend, cousin, and the most amazing son in the whole wide world; everyone who meets you is drawn to you fun loving personality. I am amazed at how creative and ingenious you are. I can’t wait to see how far you go in life. There is NOTHING that you can’t achieve with some hard work. I promise that I will always support you and your dreams. I know without a shadow of a doubt that you will always make me proud. I encourage you to follow your heart and dreams and be exactly who you are, because you are incredible. I promise that I will always support you, no matter what. I will ALWAYS be your number one cheerleader.
Here’s a look at what his morning looked like:
(Disclaimer: If you ask me where Lex is attending school, I probably won’t answer you. He wears uniforms, and I took the time to clone out his monogram for privacy reasons. I took a million really cute photos at his school as well, and wish I could share them in this post, but those will have to remain private.)
