Gigi’s Snowy Maternity Portraits | Sacramento Photographer | South Lake Tahoe, Ca

This winter maternity session captured in beautiful snowy South Lake Tahoe, CA was amazing to shoot!

This beautiful mama is expecting her second son in March.  I am so excited for this family to grow!   Gigi and her lovely family are some of our dearest friends, so as soon as we found out she was expecting, we started planning her maternity and newborn pictures.  …As one does when they are my friend.  With the date of her maternity session being in the winter, it can make scheduling sessions during these winter months a challenge because of the weather.  This particular session had to be rescheduled a couple of times when we were rained out. With most of my favorite Sacramento and Roseville locations out of commission at this time of the year due to the weather, I told her that I didn’t mind traveling to a really awesome location in Northern CA or setting something up in my studio located in Citrus Heights, CA.  We decided to travel to gorgeous South Lake Tahoe where I photographed her in the snow.

Gigi dressed her family in perfectly coordinated outfits for her first casual look.  She chose soft shades of grey because we wanted the beautiful snowy scenery to be the main focus and she mixed with fun winter prints.  She also borrowed one of my maternity gowns to wear for her second glamorous look.  I have a collection of gowns that I offer to all of my maternity clients.  All the mamas love to play dress-up, and I always love adding a bit of glamour to my maternity sessions.  Gigi picked out a Sew Trendy Accessories off the shoulder knit gown in winter white.  She brought along a luxurious fur coat from her hometown in Argentina to accessorize her gown. She looked stunning! While we were shooting, on the other side of the hill, there were several people playing in the snow.  One group of little girls took a break from sledding so they could watch what we were doing. I thought it was adorable that they kept comparing her to a princess.

Congratulations on your growing family!  Thank you for the amazing time at the snow. <3
