I photographed the McDermott Family in Old Roseville for their holiday mini session on a cool crisp fall morning. Roseville really brought it for me this morning with all of these gorgeous fall colors. I am one happy photographer! I am so behind with my blogging. I have had the opportunity to photograph so many families this holiday season, so I am trying to play catch up right now so I can share with you all what I have been working on. I’m blogging about this particular session about a month after I shot it. Now that it is mid/late December, all of those beautiful leaves are currently no longer around. The fall colors only stick around for a short while, but it is my favorite time of the year when the leaves do change. I loved the purple dress that this mom chose to wear. It hugged her baby belly perfectly and complimented the color scheme in Old Roseville so nicely. I was so excited to learn that the mom, Mandy (awesome name by the way!!!) is expecting her second baby and that this holiday mini session was also a maternity session. Mandi Pol Photography was recently selected by Expertise.com as one of the 19 best maternity photographers in Sacramento, and you see photographing babies and baby bellies is kind of my “thing”. So any opportunity for me to photograph a maternity session and chat about newborn portraits is a good day of work for me. 🙂
This soon to be big sister sure is a cutie, but during the morning of our family portrait session, she wasn’t feeling her best and had a runny nose. Honestly, she wanted nothing to do with family portraits. And I don’t blame her! That swingset we were standing right next to was calling this girlfriend’s name. So I bribed some smiles out of her, we played some silly games so I could snag that family pose, and then I took her over to the playground and snapped some candid shots of her. The candid shots are without fail always my favorites. One day, in the blink of an eye, she will be a big girl. She will no longer find comfort in sucking on her pacifier. She will be able to sit still and smile on cue. But until then, I’m going to photograph Miss Palmer exactly as she is at the feisty and amazing age of 2 years.
Thanks again McDermott Family! <3
