I love photographing cake smash portraits so much! Every one of these sessions are always so much fun! I love to plop a baby down in front of a birthday cake and just let them go to town. Taking pictures of babies eating their first taste of birthday cake can sure be messy, but it is so worth having to clean up frosting because it creates a fun and unique backdrops for your baby’s portraits! I love to capture the excitement and celebration of this huge milestone into a picture that I hope will be forever treasured by parents and babies alike. After all this time of pregnancy, sleepless nights, and oh so many firsts, soooo many changes happen over a baby’s first year! Your baby is learning how to walk, play, and eat solid foods and now that this first year has come to a close, it is time to celebrate and let them eat their first taste of birthday cake, and I want to capture photographs of every moment of it!
Often I will photograph babies with birthday cake at outdoor locations in the Sacramento area, but lately my studio cake smash sessions have been the more popular option. It is the time of the year where it is cold outside, and we have been having unpleasant weather so I haven’t been wanting to photograph baby models outside. Thankfully, I have the ability to set up my mobile photography studio at a variety of spots like at my client’s homes or at my studio located in my home.
This darling baby girl, Quinn was a fabulous model. My studio cake smash sessions include the parents choice of 2 different backdrops. Her mom was interested in the colors white and gold to go with her fabulous mint and pink colored tutu. I used one of my favorite backdrops from LemonDrop Shop backdrop store, a white drop with gold foil polka dots and also set up a fun bakery themed backdrop which is always my favorite!
Happy Birthday Quinn!
