I’ve been having so much fun spending time photographing families in Apple Hill this fall. Here is a recent mini session I did with the Ricks family a couple of weeks back.
I really enjoyed photographing this beautiful mama and her two adorable kiddos. It was truly a wonderful day! I always set a couple of weekends aside in the fall to put together a marathon of mini sessions in the gorgeous apple orchards up in Apple Hill. I’m all done shooting in Apple Hill for this year, and I am finally getting the chance to catch up on my blogging so I can tell you all about it! On this particular November day, I had the opportunity to meet with a bunch of lovely families (like this one!). The weather was perfect and I met with this family towards the end of the day when it was just about golden hour. As the sun gets lower and lower in the sky – just before it officially sets, the light in Apple Hill glows with a golden rosy warmth. That light shines through the leaves in the apple trees and makes them sparkle and I absolutely love to photograph during this magical time! We walked around the apple orchard a bit and found that the orchard was jam packed with visitors, and the farm also had out ladders, crates, and quite a bit of farm machinery used for picking the fruit from the trees. This was the perfect weekend to have mini sessions! I had fun posing this family on one of their ladders and of course the kids LOVED climbing up into the leaves. I love photographing the lines that the rows of apple trees create. There are so many ways to create interesting composition in the orchards and I always enjoy the challenge. We also had the chance to walk across the street to where the Christmas trees grow, and the pictures I took using that background are some of my favorites!
In addition to having spectacular fall themed backdrops, the kind that only beautiful Apple Hill can provide, I also had some truly fabulous models to photograph! These kids have the best personalities and they were TONS of fun to work with! They let me try all kinds of fun and crazy poses and I am very grateful to have had such a fun time with some amazing company. I am reminded yet again, that I have the best job ever! Here are some of my favorite shots of the day.
