I had a wonderful time capturing maternity portraits of this gorgeous mama on a very hot summer evening At Folsom Lake back in August.
As a Roseville area maternity and newborn photographer, it brings me such delight to be able to capture this special and exciting time in a mom’s life in portraits for her.  I have been very busy over the past month.  We made the decision to move studios, and are very excited about our bigger and better studio in Roseville.  I can’t wait to share more details with you all!  While I use my studio to capture newborn portraits, cake smash sessions, and various other studio portraits, I find that I prefer to shoot maternity sessions outdoors. The Sacramento area has some amazing locations for portraits with lots of variety to pick from.  This mom asked me to meet at the lake because she was interested in summer scenery with golden sunshine and poses near the water with a “beach-y” feel.  This spot in Folsom is one of my favorites because the beautiful scenery here feels surreal and like something from a story book, especially at sunset.  I love dressing mamas in beautiful gowns and making them look like princesses.  This is my go to spot to get my signature fairy tale feel.
For this lovely summer maternity session I had the pleasure of photographing beautiful Samantha and her husband who are expecting their first baby, a little boy. These two were absolutely delightful to photograph and they are very excited for their baby boy to arrive and to come see me again for newborn portraits.  I hear that Samantha is getting induced tomorrow, so it will be any day now that I will get to meet her baby boy.  They will get to come see me in the new studio in Roseville and just might be the first newborn session that I do there.
We took a stroll around the trails leading to the lake and found plenty of gorgeous spots to pose for pictures. I love posing expecting mamas along the beach here and I love to tuck my subjects into a spot where I can shoot through the leaves and create an interesting frame, and this spot in Folsom is great for that! Not only did we encounter pretty surroundings, in addition the afternoon sunlight was golden and beautiful and it made my photographer’s heart very happy.
Samantha arrived at her session in her first dress that she brought from home, a fun floral print maxi dress.  She also was interested in taking me up on my offer to provide her wardrobe for her. She  She chose to wear a bright blue colored strapless knit floor length gown made by Sew Trendy Accessories and a purple lace mermaid gown.  I just love the way that deep plum purple color compliments Samantha’s complexion. I am so pleased with how gorgeous these maternity portraits turned out.
Wishing a huge congratulations to Samantha and Kevin as they anticipate the arrival of their sweet baby. Thanks for the fun time!
