This year I had the opportunity to photograph several Valentine’s Day mini sessions here at my studio located in Citrus Heights, Ca. I had plans to hold these mini sessions at a gorgeous outdoor location in Roseville, Ca, and also give my clients the option to do a studio session if they preferred, but due to the weather, my plans for outdoor sessions were washed away by the rain. Thankfully, I was able to decorate my studio for Valentine’s day and photograph everyone there with ease!
Being a natural light photographer means that I am always watching what is going on with weather. Stormy weather means rescheduling outdoor sessions, so I’m obsessed with checking my weather apps so I can plan ahead. Lately, the Sacramento area has been experiencing a tremendous amount of rain. The weather has been crazy! Several Northern California counties are experiencing awful flooding, but the Roseville area (where the studio is and where I live) is located in an area of higher elevation, and I feel very thankful that I do not have to face the fear of having to be evacuated. Many others are not as lucky. Did you guys hear about the damage to the spillway of the Oroville Dam and the subsequent evacuations? It has been all over the news, and it is very sad. I did read recently that there may be a silver lining to all these storms. This severe weather, is about to cause an abundance of wildflowers to pop up, and I am sooooo excited for the springtime to arrive and for all that it will bring. Spring mini sessions are in the works, and I have some amazing plans in store. In the meantime, I’ve been working primarily in my studio, and I am greatly looking forward to being able to get back in my groove with outdoor sessions.
Here’s a peek at the fun we had in the studio with these Valentine’s session. All the kiddos liked my cute little kissing booth, and I fell in love with them all. Here’s a few of my favorite shots.
Ps…I’m kind of a germa-phobe and didn’t want to share saliva/germs during flu season and put real lipstick marks on anyone. Instead of covering these little cuties in kisses, I just used photoshop to add the lipstick kiss marks, and think it’s just perfect!
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!
