I met up with this darling family on a chilly and misty winter morning in Roseville, CA so that I could take their family portrait. I love shooting on overcast mornings like this one. I like effect it provides. It is my second most favorite lighting condition. (Golden summer afternoon lighting would have to be my first! Gotta wait a couple more months to get to work with that again, though.)
This shoot was really great! I had a wonderful time photographing this family. I thought that they were just too cute and really were the sweetest bunch . Their little girl, Maddie completely stole my heart. She has the most gorgeous blue eyes and the cutest little personality. Her manners are absolutely impeccable and she listened very well to all of my directions and instructions – doing exactly as I said. I told her mom and dad that I was very impressed! Maddie is very excited for Santa to come visit her this Christmas, and I think he has some great surprises for this sweet and very good girl!
I photographed this family at one of my favorite spots in Roseville – Royer park in Old Roseville. I just love photographing families here, and I can’t think of a prettier place in Roseville than on the old bridge once the leaves change colors! It makes for the prettiest backdrop. I’m a bit behind in my blogging. I have been very busy shooting all over Sacramento and Roseville getting those Christmas card shots done for everybody, and this evening I am playing catch up. I shot this session back in November when it was still colorful outside and when it still looked like fall. As I’m sitting here typing, it is freezing outside and the season has definitely changed over now. I’m sipping on a hot cup of tea and working on my laptop while I’m sitting next to the blazing fire going in the fireplace. It’s definitely winter now, and I’m feeling nostalgic looking at these pretty fall colors.
Thank you so much for the lovely morning, Winters Family! These guys braved the cold for me (See! I told you I can edit your red noses, no problem!), sat on the cold wet steps, and let me coax natural smiles from them with my lame jokes all without complaint. I think it was worth it! I absolutely love the way your family portraits came together!
